This Privacy Policy explains how Playita Ventures LLC ("Playita Ventures," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Food and Form mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App" or "Service").
By downloading, accessing, or using Food and Form, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Food and Form is operated by Playita Ventures LLC. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your information, contact us at support@playitaventures.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information.
Information you provide
- Account information — your email address and authentication credentials when you create an account.
- Profile and health information — information you choose to enter, such as your date of birth, sex, height, weight, body-fat percentage, body measurements, activity level, dietary preferences, allergies or restrictions, and your goals.
- Food and nutrition data — meals you log, including text descriptions, photographs of food, serving sizes, and the estimated or edited calories and macronutrients associated with them.
- Fitness data — workouts, personal records, and fitness-test results you choose to record.
- Recipes and favorites — ingredients you enter, recipes generated for you, and items you save or favorite.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information — device model, operating system and version, app version, language and region settings, time zone, and unique device or installation identifiers.
- Diagnostics and log data — app activity, feature usage, crash reports, and performance data.
- Approximate location — we may infer a general location (such as country or region) from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Information from third parties
- Subscription information — when you purchase a subscription, Apple provides us with your subscription status, transaction identifiers, and renewal or cancellation events. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
3. Photographs and Camera
If you choose to log a meal by photo, the App accesses your camera and/or photo library to capture or select an image. Photos you submit are uploaded to our cloud storage and sent to our AI providers to estimate the food and its nutrition (see Section 5). You control which photos you submit. You can decline camera or photo-library permission in your device settings, though some features will not work without it.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the App;
- estimate the nutritional content of foods you photograph or describe, and generate recipes and meal ideas;
- create and personalize your dashboards, macros, goals, and history;
- process and manage your subscription and free trial;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- monitor, secure, debug, and improve the App;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Third-Party AI Providers
Food and Form uses third-party artificial-intelligence services (such as OpenAI) to analyze the food photos and text descriptions you submit, estimate calories and macronutrients, and generate recipes and meal suggestions. To provide these features, the relevant content you submit (for example, a meal photo or an ingredient list) is transmitted to these providers for processing, and a result is returned to the App.
AI-generated estimates and recipes are provided for general informational purposes only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and must not be relied upon for medical, dietary, allergy, or health decisions. Always verify nutritional information and ingredients independently, especially if you have allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions. See our Terms of Service for important disclaimers.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers and processors — with vendors who perform services for us, including cloud hosting, database, and storage (Supabase), AI processing (such as OpenAI), and app distribution and payments (Apple). These providers process your information on our behalf and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
- Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Playita Ventures, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent — when you direct us to share it.
- Aggregated or de-identified data — we may share information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required or permitted by law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the App and submit information at your own risk.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update — you can view and edit much of your profile and logged data directly in the App.
- Delete — you can delete individual entries in the App, and you may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@playitaventures.com.
- Permissions — you can control camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. 10. Children's Privacy
Food and Form is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@playitaventures.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International Users
We are based in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
12. Health Information Disclaimer
Food and Form is a general wellness and fitness tool. It is not a medical device, and we are not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Information you log is not medical advice and is not protected health information under HIPAA.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The App relies on third-party services (such as Apple and our AI and infrastructure providers) and may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and their use of your information is governed by their own policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
